Virgin Gorda.

This island is part British Virgin Islands, located in the Caribbean.
Virgin Gorda translated as the fat virgin was named by Christopher Columbus because the island resembled a fat woman lying on her side. This island has a mesmerizing mix of powdery beaches, marine rich reefs, dazzling sunsets and rugged landscapes.
You can spend a day lying on the beach with a coconut in your hand or you can go snorkeling in the sea and see coral reefs, fishes etc. At the end of the day, you can watch the sunset which will leave you spellbound.
There are so many other interesting places to see on the island. You can visit the Baths located in Spanish town. This beachy area has unusual boulder formations, grottos, tide pools and tunnels. You can take a trip down memory lane in The Copper Mine.
It is a national park that houses an abandoned 19th century copper industry. The island has had renowned visitors from the famous English pirate Sir Francis Drake to John Hawkins. Visit this island for a taste of the Caribbean.

Zanzibar.

Fifty kilometres from mainland Tanzania lies Zanzibar also known as Spice Island. There are countless reasons why you should visit this archipelago. It has gleaming azure waters, white sand beaches and breath taking sites. It has a rich history and had trade contacts with the Arabs and Indians 17th to 19th century. You can explore Stone Town, the former capital and centre of the slave and spice trade in the 19th century. Stone Town’s architecture displays an interesting mix of Swahili, Arab, Indian and European elements. It was made a UNESCO Heritage site in 2000 due to this.
Zanzibar since ancient times has been known for its spice production and trade with the outside world. It has not changed since then and you can take a tour to spice plantations and see how ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg etc. are grown in Kizimbani. You can also visit the Persian Baths constructed by Sultan Said for his harem in Fuji.

Borneo.

If you are seeking green vegetation, beautiful coral reefs, crystal clear waters and exotic landscapes, look no further than the beautiful island of Borneo.
Located in the Malay Archipelago, it is divided between Malaysia and Indonesia in the south and Brunei in the north. There are numerous reasons why you should visit Borneo and Gunung national park is one of them.
You can explore the ancient rain forest where you will catch a glimpse of monkeys swinging in the trees or looking into the eyes of leopard or dwarf elephant. The park is also a UNESCO WORLD Heritage site. Other interesting places worth seeing are the caves located below the rain forest. Antiparous .

If you are looking for a quiet location with fewer crowds, Antiparous is just the island for you.
This hidden gem is situated 1.5 kilometres, southwest of Parous on the Aegean sea.

Another famous feature of this place is The Cave of Antiparous.it is the largest vertical cave in Europe. Mafia island.

South east of Dares Salam, off the coast of Tanzania is this archipelago. Sandy beaches, palm trees and lapping waves make it a fantastic place to visit. , there is more to discover beyond its sandy beaches.
Mafia Island has one of the most beautiful preserved coral reefs and marine life around. Expect to swim beside humpback whales, baby turtles etc. This makes it a haven for divers and surfers. The lush mangrove forest is another fantastic place on the island. You will get to see birds, squirrels and monkeys in the trees.
The island is not as popular as Zanzibar, so there will be less crowds and tourists here. That means you have a chance to get a digital and stress detox here. You can take a tour around the historical ruins across the island.

Espiritu Santo.

If you are in Vanatu,I recommend you visit Espiritu Santo island. It is situated in the Sanna region of Vanuatu on the Pacific Ocean. This island is a paradise for beach lovers.
Release your inner Dita Von Teese on champagne beach, which is famous for its crystal clear waters and colourful coral reefs.
Apart from the beach, other interesting places to explore are The Million Dollar Point, a great snorkeling place made popular by the junk naval equipment left behind by American soldiers during world war two.
Another place to see is the wreckage of SS President Coolidge. It was a luxury liner that sunk when it hit a sea mine durning the war.

Gozo.

This lesser known island is located in Malta on the Mediterranean Sea. What I find fascinating about this island is its link to Greek mythology. Ancient Greek historians believed Gozo was the home of Calypso, the nymph in Greek mythology who according to homer’s odyssey detained Odysseus for seven years.
Apart from sunbathing on its powdery beaches to snorkeling in its azure waters, there are more interesting things to do on the island.
History lovers will have a thrilling time on Gozo.it was invaded by the ottomans and the Carthiagians centuries ago and historical sites stand as a testament to the events that occurred centuries ago.
Visit the Gjantja temples, a UNESCO Heritage site which was built in the Neolithic period. Also check out Xaghra circle in Boryi-imramma where there are remains of a temple.
There are also interesting landscapes to see like Jal- Mixta Cave, the Calypso Cave and the Ghasri Valley, a picturesque location where you can swim in its clear waters and hike on its high cliffs.
Another place to see is the Citadel of Victoria. It was built during the Bronze Age. It is located in the central part of Gozo and its magnificent landscapes throughout the island can be seen from the citadel.
